The presses have fallen quiet. The cellar hums with the soft alchemy of fermentation. Another harvest has written itself into our barrels — and it’s time to gather, taste, and celebrate.

We are delighted to invite you to the harvest chapter of our beloved Family & Fine Wine Feast, a quarterly tradition that has become one of our favourite moments in the Hasher calendar. This autumn, we’re adding something new to the ritual: a collaborative art workshop with artist Nicky Myny, as we set out together to capture in colour and texture what this harvest has truly been about.

For the grown-ups:

We’ll begin where it all happens — in the cellar — where our winemaker Natasha Williams will guide you through a tasting of the first fermentations straight from the barrel. Young, lively, unfinished, and full of promise: this is wine in its most honest form.

For the children:

They’ll take to the vineyards with all their senses wide open. Fingers in the earth. Noses in the blooms. Listening for the hum of insects in the air. With the help of our guides, they’ll go on a true Easter foraging expedition.

The canvas

Nicky Myny is a contemporary Belgian artist whose practice lives at the intersection of presence, ritual, and relational expression. Working from attentive listening — to body, environment, and material — her collaborative works emerge organically from the moment itself. Together, we will translate the sights, scents, and feeling of this harvest into a shared artwork that is entirely our own.

From there, we move to the harvest table, where a spread of seasonal dishes, fresh cheeses, warm mosbolletjies, and our cool-climate wines await.

About the series

Our Family & Fine Wine Feasts follow the rhythm of the year, each one a gathering built around flavour, family, and the land that holds us. We eat, drink, and explore together, so that both children and adults can feel the season under their skin. Come with open hands and open senses. The valley is turning, and we’d love to celebrate it with you!
