The weather might have thrown us a curveball, but ‘Fynbos,’ the kickoff to our Family & Fine Wine Feasts Series, turned into something truly unforgettable. Embracing the ‘Cape of Storms,’ we brought the magic of fynbos indoors and created a cosy, welcoming space in the cellar where everyone felt at home.

The festivities began with an intimate wine tasting led by Frederik and winemaker, Natasha Williams. As the parents indulged in our cool-climate wines, the little ones gathered by the fire, their faces glowing with excitement as Céline entertained them with a Fynbos-inspired arts and crafts session.

As the afternoon melted into night, the cellar, bathed in the soft glow of candlelight, transformed into a scene straight out of a fairy tale. Chef Ricky Broekhoven’s menu, bursting with seasonal flavours, brought everyone together around a beautifully set table. The children dined alongside their parents, sharing the same mouthwatering dishes and soaking in the joy of simply being together.

The evening was a true reflection of everything we hold dear at Hasher Family Wines: the joy of nature, the comfort of family, and the simple pleasures of life. Seeing so many smiles and hearing the laughter that echoed through our cellar made it clear—this was the perfect start to our series.

But this is just the beginning—Chapter 2 is coming soon, and we can’t wait to welcome you back to the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley on 12th October for another unforgettable evening. Stay tuned as we prepare to continue this new tradition that is already becoming a beloved family favourite.
